KICKER Marine Audio
Goin’ Catching With Pro – Angler Scott Martin
Pro angler Scott Martin doesn’t just go fishing—he goes catching. And whether he’s chasing fish or cruising home with the day’s catch, KICKER Marine Audio supplies the soundtrack.
Martin is always prepared for a day on the water, especially aboard Vice Versa, his 42-foot Freeman catamaran featuring eye-catching KICKER sailfish graphics. Often available for charter in Islamorada in the Florida Keys, Vice Versa is easy to spot at the dock—and even harder to miss on the water.
Bait, chum, cast net, reels and plenty of line: check. Martin also never forgets his iPhone—not only for photos of the catch, but also for the playlist powering his literally “amped-up” 3,500-watt KICKER Marine Audio system.
“Music is important for setting the mood and getting everyone fired up for a great day,” Martin says. “We know we can count on KICKER for reliable, durable sound when we’re out there fighting waves and fish. When we’re on a fish, we may cut the music so we can concentrate and communicate—but once we’re headed back to shore, we crank it back up!”
Martin first became familiar with KICKER Performance Audio as a kid growing up in Clermont, Florida, where he heard it blasting from pickup trucks. Years later, Cartronics in Miami introduced him to KICKER Marine Audio.
Impressed by the construction, durability and powerful sound, Martin knew KICKER was the right fit for his Freeman—and for a lifestyle that puts equipment to the test hundreds of days each year.
“I need equipment I can depend on, from my fishing gear to my audio,” Martin says. “KICKER has impressed me across the board with its durability, service and sound quality.”
How many speakers are aboard Vice Versa? “I don’t know—I’ve lost count!” he laughs.
The four-zone system includes more than 16 speakers, six subwoofers, five amplifiers and a growing collection of KICKER Marine Audio components. Recent upgrades include KICKER’s newest M-Class equipment for even more refined, high-performance sound:
- White 9-inch horn-loaded speakers in a best-in-class tower system
- 10- and 12-inch free-air subwoofers
- 8- and 6.5-inch coaxial speakers
- Tweeters with charcoal or white grilles and optional LED lighting
- 100-watt full-range Class D amplifiers
- ABYC-spec marine wire
The equipment is RoHS compliant and protected by weather-resistant enclosures engineered with KICKER REAL MARINE® durability for demanding marine environments.
Installed by Custom Marine Concepts and coordinated by Dynamic Sales & Marketing, KICKER Marine Audio’s Florida representative, the system delivers the power and clarity Martin expects from KICKER.
From pushing off the dock to filleting the day’s catch, Scott Martin is enjoying life on the water—with KICKER Marine Audio providing the soundtrack.
